Guests toured to the parlor for the receiving line with Mrs. Stone Sr. and Jr. seen among the line. Mrs May followed by Mrs. L. N. Chandler, Mrs. Logan, Mrs. Culley, and Mrs. Rowland offered compliments before Worthing hosts Mr. Wardlaw Wendell and Paul Ramey guided guests to the dining room for a buffet.

W H Hurdle of Holly Springs Mississippi marketed grade Angus steers in St Louis at 101 per hundred, the highest price yet paid for southern cattle. Mississippi bred cattle from Hurdle averaged 1206 pounds at 310, with mixed steers and heifers at 9.75. cows and heifers at 48.75. Hurdle says stock from his Marshall County farm shows southern herds can compete and be profitable.
