The girl is seriously injured. At Bessemer Alabama work began on a large car works expected to employ about two thousand men, led by iron king H F Debardeleben. A heavy hail storm hit western Noxubee County Mississippi on the 9th damaging crops. The Grand Jury of Hinds County Mississippi returned two true bills against Col. W L Hemingway former State Treasurer for embezzlement of 513,412.19.

A cloud burst near Breoohurst Ontario on Thursday afternoon swelled the creek to river size, washing away six bridges and nearly all mill dams in the township. The railroad was washed out severing rail communication.
