Hail Wrecks Acres Near Cassentos And Captain Lehfeldt Dies

About four acres of grain were ruined by hail Thursday evening in Cass county with storm activity centered two miles southwest of Cassentos. The storm crossed three townships in a crescent shape, likely from two converging storms, leaving untouched farms nearby. At Casselton skies were calm and rainfall minimal. Capt Otto Lehfeldt, known to lake mariners, died after a three week illness due to stomach complications at age 44.
