Robert McCain, 76, longtime Oxford resident, collapsed and died Wednesday morning in front of his daughter Martha Howe’s home at 339 Johnson Place Memphis. He had heart trouble and is survived by two sons Isaac of California and Ned of Lafayette County. Burial will be in Oxford.

Funeral of the late Judge William A. Roane
The funeral for Judge William A. Roane of Houston Mississippi, former Oxford resident, was held Wednesday at First Methodist Church with graveside services at St Peters Cemetery conducted by Masons. He died in Colorado Springs while visiting his daughter. Roane served as circuit judge, Mississippi legislator, and was active in Masonry and the Columbian Woodmen. Survived by seven children and several relatives.
