Lightning kills man and mule near Gibson Mississippi
During an afternoon electrical storm at 2 o'clock Louis Sykes a black man was instantly killed by a bolt of lightning. His mule also perished. They were in front of J L Kolb Jr store at Gibson when struck by the lightning.

Mrs. R. E. B. Wallace Dies After Illness at 69
Mrs. R. E. B. Wallace died suddenly last night at 9:30. Funeral held at the Methodist Church with Rev. Lipscomb and Rev. Leavell officiating. She was 69 and buried in St. Peter's Cemetery. Survived by husband Ed Wallace and children a son and Mrs. Eugene Farley of Clarksdale.
