Miss Petty of Tyre married Mr. Marton White of Goevale Sunday afternoon. Elder W. L. Smith officiated as the couple stood on the Tallahatchie River Levee with Lucille Waldup and Misses Byrd and Houston present. The bride and groom are praised as notable young locals and the union is expected to bring happiness.
At 9:30 Tuesday morning Mr. and Mrs. J. Landie and Miss Annie Landie joined in marriage with Mr. James Calvin Ross. Rev. W. W. Woollard of the First Methodist church officiated. After the ceremony the couple departed for New Orleans, La. They will make their home in Gulfport after July 15.
Fort Worth preacher Rev N A Moore will speak at Oxford Baptist Church next Sunday at 11 o clock. Admission is free. An advertisement touts Herline as a treatment for disordered stomach and torpid liver, sold by A H Kendel.
