First Settlers of College Hill Mississippi Listed
A former Mississippi settlement record lists the first families on College Hill in the era before and during the Civil War. It notes slaveholding farmers, church and school buildings, mills, road work, and Loyalist sentiment as the community formed and endured through 1860s conflicts. It honors loyal slaves and recalls strict discipline and civic effort by the early inhabitants.
