The mother and child suffered severe burns. the father was burned and may die. The family loss is described as substantial.
A midnight blaze in central Kansas City destroyed a four story building at 1012 1014 Walnut. The Jaccard Watch and Jewelry Co on the ground floor faced about 150000 in losses, with Foster Wool Co on floors two and three suffering around 50000. The Kansas City Art School on the top floor lost 85000. The building owner PD O Susart carried 40000 in debt and 35000 insured.
Lagewoop New Jersey January 14 President and Mrs Cleveland and Baby Ruth stayed at the Little White House cottage here.
