Oxford Bazar and local notices linger in Oxford
Sunday visits, court week notes, and shop commerce fill the page. Local residents J Brown and Rev Wyatt appear alongside ministers and students. The Oxford Pharmacy and Lex Ramey’s advertise supplies, while the Bazar offers oysters, dolls hats and treats. Dockets, holidays, and church events mix with real estate and brick prices as Oxford items of daily life unfold.

The Lamar Rifles Survivor Association met at the Knight Hotel on November 24 and attended Union services at Cumberland Presbyterian Church led by Rev. W. J. King. The veterans carried their original company flag into worship, were presented with a battle-scarred flag by Oxford ladies, and reassembled at the Knight Hotel for prayers, a formal meeting, memorial resolutions, and plans for future reunions. Comrades Tolbert Shaw and Hedleston led the session, with notes on deaths of J. W. Morrow, H. Price, and W. H. Wilson.

Electric Bitters and King's New Discovery Ads Mixed Health Claims
A collage of old medicine advertisements touts Electric Bitters as a cure-all for stomach, kidney, and nerve issues with a 59 cent price and guarantee. Dr King’s New Discovery is praised for consumption and a Beall claim cites miraculous recovery. Chamberlain’s Pain Balm promises rapid wound healing. A separate item notes the death of Dockwell from suffocation after a cold, with Ballard’s Horehound syrup marketed by a local pharmacy.
