The Twenty-Fourth National Encampment convened in Music Hall with delegates and veterans present. General Alger addressed the gathering as General Sherman received applause and declined to move to the platform, while plans for monuments and memorials were discussed amid election of officers and preparations for future encampments.
The eighth annual convention opened in Tremont Temple Boston on Aug 4 at 1 am with National president Mrs Annie Wittenmeyer chairing.
