A Beaver creek clash in Knott county between the Hall Hayes Martins faction left four outlaw members dead and two officers wounded. Martins Wyatt Silas and Alexander lead about fifty men entrenched at Martin home as Hindman sends reinforcements for a possible surrender.
In Chadwick Missouri Thames Freeman a Chadwick merchant and 18 year old Robert Keene fought a revolver duel in the streets. Both men died before observers reached them. Freeman leaves a widow and several children. Keene was the son of Thomas Keene a wealthy farmer near Chadwick.
