Washington April 18. President issued a proclamation designating Friday April 26 as Liberty Day and asked the people to pledge anew their support of the government and federal employees. A half holiday will be given.
On May 5 1918 the First Baptist Church of Oxford invites all county Baptist churches to send delegates. Officials and interested members are urged to attend the Saturday and Sunday gathering with free admission. Arrangements announced by Dr. C Longest Mrs R H McElroy and Auber Wilds.
Woolridge visits Ma Goyer of Sardis and succeeds Knight as station agent. Knight moves to Springs as right agent. J S Gooe was in town on business. Hugzmz of Water Valley is Mrs. McGowen. Knight visits Holy Springs weekend. Also itemized sale offers include a 32 caliber special revolver and duplex chair being sold by Oxford are Co with a reward notice.
Major H L Hunt a veteran newspaper man will publish write ups of La fayette county business enterprises and individuals in the Eagle He comes highly recommended by leading papers and will visit county towns to explain his mission His articles are expected in the Eagle issue of April 25 or later. residents are advised to be ready for his visit

Mrs. D Herring ton of 1282 Fourth Avenue Nashville Tennessee says Tanlac improved her health after four years of pain and weakness. She dropped to ninety eight pounds before gaining fourteen pounds and regaining appetite and sleep. Tanlac is sold by Rowland Drug Company Oxford Mississippi.
Dr. H. M. Paser visited his parents at Winona Saturday. Prof. Ellis Moffett made a business trip to Corinth Friday. Miss Marie Ward, after a short visit home, returned Monday to her work in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
