Death of Elley D Nichols in Oxford

Elley D Nichols age 67 died last Saturday at 4 am at the home of his nephew and niece Mr and Mrs J H Parks on North Street Oxford. He was a native of the county and had lived in Oxford 25 years suffering from liver cancer. Funeral held Sunday at 2 pm at the Parks home with interment at St Peters cemetery Rev J A Christian officiating. He leaves two sisters and many nieces and nephews. The Eagle offers condolences to the bereaved.

In Texarkana Texas on April 2 a tramp was found dead on a freight train with hands tied and tossed from the cars near Kit Lake Lafayette County Arkansas. Eight tramps on the first section were arrested and held for investigation. The body’s identification bore L G Henshaw and clothing listed a Tulsa Oklahoma store.
