In Oxbow the election produced Miles McCay as mayor with a solid majority. McCay received 86 votes to Burmeister 44, and will lead the town with the expected dignity and wisdom this coming year.
Saskatchewan leads provinces in the road drag contest as of September 1st with improved work across the province. Enniskillen RM won first prize on a road south of Oxbow under A. Riddell and took the Grand Championship prize of 250 dollars, reflecting strong government support and municipal effort.
The Women's Missionary Society of the Oxbow district held its first convention in our town on Thursday December 6 with Mrs P I Thacker presiding. Delegates from Carn doff Carnevale Alameda and Fro Disui attended. The three sessions offered devotional exercises led by Mrs of Carnduff. Women and girls representing auxiliaries and circles answered the call. Reports on activities were read, including a paper on Systematic Giri by Mrs C Megill and a discussion of How Much Owest to My Lord by Mrs Urquhart.
Mrs G H chaired tea hour as the B C welcomed visitors. Mrs S R Wallace opened the session with a welcome, joined by Rev Lawson. Dr James Endicott spoke on West China missions, sharing firsthand experiences and vivid word pictures. The program closed with anthem and national song.
