Henry Maschek aged thirty four died at his Ottumwa home after a four day illness. He leaves a wife and three children, plus parents and two Chicago brothers. A postmortem will be held to determine the cause, with mass at Sacred Heart and funeral at Calvary cemetery.

Leroy Edwards, colored man from this city, died of pneumonia in the Anamosa reform school hospital Saturday. He had served a life sentence for raping Mrs. C. Erwin of Hayne Street after being identified by her and corroborating testimony. Funeral held at 4 pm yesterday at the home of his wife, 415 Myrtle Street, burial in Shaul Cemetery. Survived by wife and three children.

Cincinnati, June 7. County Prosecutor Hunt and ten deputies raided the Consolidated Stock exchange accused as a bucket shop clearing house. Deputies used axes to wreck the offices and carried away paraphernalia. W. D. Klausman, B. H. Moorehead, and Louis Foster were arrested on warrants for bucket shop operation.

Chief Makes Arrest on Theft Charge in Local City
