Students start the term with brisk enrollment gains in both grades and high school. A larger faculty and a spacious building are expected to prevent crowding as the new school year begins. No volunteer reports yet on school notes.
The Corydon Democrat reports Freed's Dog and Pony Show performed in Elizabeth Lanesville Corydon and Amsterdam last week. The show pleased proprietors and performers critics call it clean interesting and amusing. The tent was full Friday night in Corydon and children enjoyed trained dogs and ponies. The paper endorses the show and wishes the proprietors success.
At the W M S meeting held Thursday at Mrs C W Davis home the officers elected were Mrs Abe Bowen president Mrs J L Smith vice president Mrs Clyde Davis secretary Mrs Augusta Robinson treasurer Mrs Abe Switzer corresponding secretary and Mrs T A Plummer superintendent Young People's Work Rev W B Taylor departed for Waterloo Ind to attend the United Brethren conference with H F Stephen as delegate They expect a lively contest for next year’s conference Otterbein is urged to raise its profile Henry Timmons dies at 76 in Sheridan Ind and is buried in Gilboa cemetery Funeral services were led by Rev Meredith Additional items include social and school news as classmates gather at the 13 O H S class reunion and local residents travel for work study and visits with family and friends Various local residents visit Williamsport Attica Lafayette Purdue and other nearby towns with plans to move or resume activities in Otterbein and surrounding area
