Battle Over Lincoln in Gettysburg Hotel Fight

Aerial Collision Claims One Life in German Skies
In Johannisthal in July a midair crash killed aviator Helscher and badly injured Captain Friedel. Each machine, a two seater, collided at sixty feet during dusk, both planes plunging to the ground. Helscher died soon after. Friedel suffered a severely injured spine.
