Mrs. Oswalt, aged 42, passed away after a brief illness at Water Farm southwest of the town. She was married to Emanuel on December 25, 1890, and leaves a husband and four children. The funeral was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Pitser home, with Rev. W B Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Pond Grove cemetery.
L Burns suffers from an eye condition described as iitis. The illness has attacked once and now severely hampers him with only slight improvement in the past week. There is danger it could spread to the other eye, but friends hope he recovers fully and retains his sight.
Mrs Lewis Leaming hosted a Thimble party Thursday afternoon with guests including Mrs David Buttons Ammonky and others. Dainty refreshments were served and a button hole making contest awarded first prize to Mrs Margaret Switzer and second to Mrs Mary Hawkins. Hours were 2 to 5. Otterbein’s defunct commercial club idea is discussed as a possible revival.
