Oldest operating cinema claim debated in Ottawa
Madl and Barker document Ottawa’s cinema history tracing a 1905 carnival on Main Street with two tents showing The Great Train Robbery and a bank robbery. They cite a Kinedrome tent on East Second Street and a long hall theater layout, with fires, floods, and multiple owners as evidence of a continuous film venue since 1905.
