In a rain soaked varsity style game Ottawa Junior High ninth grade led by Raymond Shaffer, but fumbles plagued the Whirlwinds as Lawrence Central scored on a 70 yard kickoff return and held on to win 8-6. Ottawa’s defense limited Central to 50 rushing yards and three first downs, while Shaffer’s 65 yard TD late in the third period provided the lone Ottawa score.
