In Topeka on Sept 3 I helped with the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy Association. Local pledges began at Ottawa Junior High 25 years ago and grew into multiple events including an Ottawa High School all night dance and firefighter boot blocks. The national total reached a record 58.3 million as Franklin County residents pursued a cure for 43 disorders.
