Two Charged in Johnson Death
Two men were charged in the shooting death of Johnson County businessman Michael A. Owen. Michael D. Ninci and Harold Glenn Ford, both 25, of Kansas City Missouri, were invited to Owens Leawood home on September 10. Owen, 51, a former public office candidate with diverse business interests, was found dead September 11 with an unfired gun in his hand. Jewelry and expensive knives were stolen, and robbery is the suspected motive. Several items were recovered over the weekend.

County to fix road and pay damages at Kettler property
Franklin County commissioners on Monday approved paying Delton Kettler 2000 in damages and moving a road segment on his land Oregon Road near K-68.
