Local Search Ends At Midnight In Pomona Kidnapping Case
Intensive 12 hour search by Kansas Highway Patrol Ottawa Police Franklin and Miami County Sheriff Departments and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation failed to locate a man believed to have kidnapped Delainne Heckman 31 in Ottawa. He is described as early twenties, about 5 foot 8, blonde or light brown hair with a beard. The car a 1969 Ford station wagon was found at Fifth and Main. No arrests reported as of late morning.

Mrs. Delainne Heckman of Pomona RFD 1 was kidnapped at gunpoint as she sat in her car near Third and Main in Ottawa. The assailant forced her to drive toward Pomona, questioned her, tried to coerce her into undressing, then let her go in a field before fleeing. A highway patrol follow-up led to her rescue by sheriff's deputies. the suspect remained at large as of early today.
