Smithfield Plans Giant Ham Biscuit Contends Cadiz Claim
Smithfield Va plans an 8 foot by 1 foot ham stuffed biscuit to mark its 250th birth day with 450 pounds of ham baked Sept 28 on Smithfield Foods grounds. Cadiz Ky claims its 4000 pound biscuit set the record 17 years ago and Guinness records were not queried. The Cadiz record has not been updated since 1985. The Smithfield biscuit serves 1,752 people and a replica Ham Museum display is proposed.

Owen O Heidner 88 of Ottawa died Sept 17 2002 with services Sept 21 at Dengel Son Mortuary and burial at Highland Cemetery. He was a longtime resident and will have a full obituary later.
