Senate Bans Mail Order Ammunition in Gun Control Push
The Senate approved a ban on mail order ammunition for rifles, shotguns, and .22-caliber weapons by a 41 to 36 vote, rejecting a Judiciary Committee move to exclude ammo from the main bill. The measure, part of a broad gun-control package, also examines gun registration, owner licensing, and licensing for collectors. Senator Hugh Scott opposed the exemption, noting it would leave out ammunition linked to high-profile assassinations.
