Tupac Shakur mourned at Brooklyn church memorial
The Brooklyn area church held a memorial service for Tupac Shakur who died from wounds after a Sept. 7 shooting. Rev. Herbert Daughtry questioned if society failed black youth as he linked the rapper to broader issues of violence, unemployment, housing, and drugs. Police have yet to identify suspects in the shooting.

Raul Felix, 17, of Los Angeles, was shot to death in South Gate after two carloads of gang members followed and surrounded his car while he looked for a freeway on ramp. He died at a hospital. two friends were with him but not harmed. No arrests were reported.

Graveside services for Ruby L. Marmon 94 Ottawa will be at Highland Cemetery with Rev. R E Stankard. Marmon born February 2 1902 in Humansville Missouri and moved to Ottawa later ran Do Drop Inn 1946 52 and Travelers Motel 1946 65. She held several community roles including Eastern Star White Shrine Beauceant and Soroptomist and attended Unity Church of Kansas City. Memorials may go to Girls Scholarship Fund of Eastern Star care of Dengel and Son Mortuary Ottawa.
