Dorothy E Cain Hale 87 of Topeka died Friday September 1 1995 in Hays. Funeral Tuesday at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery Pomona. She was born October 26 1907 in Moats to Henry Oscar and Edna Raub Cain. Survivors include husband Harold Hale son Harlan Manhattan daughter Imogene Butcher Hays 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Memorials to Pomona United Methodist Church or Pomona Chapter 305 Order of the Eastern Star.

Gov. Bill Graves announced that 50 communities and counties were awarded nearly 9.5 million dollars from the Kansas Small Cities Community Development Block Grant program. In Franklin County Walliamsburg received 260 thousand for sewer improvements. Osage County totals 207 thousand in two grants for water and sewer work. Melvern 107 thousand funds water project.
