Bethany accumulates 365 yards to Ottawa 322. Fick 174 yards passing and a TD, Stancil 157 receiving as OU looks to rebound against Southwestern and Bethany hosts Sterling.

In his major league debut Jay Pettibone held Kansas City to one run through eight and two thirds before Hal McRae’s single and a Willie Aikens 459 foot homer doomed the Twins 3-1. Quisenberry earned the save for Kansas City as Danny Jackson grabbed the win in relief.

Ottawa High School cross country placed eighth at the Olathe South Invitational led by Scott Starks who finished sixth in 10:47 and Brad Greiner ninth in 10:52 on the 2 mile course. Olathe North edged Ottawa in seventh. Shawnee Mission West won the boys title with 51 points. The Cyclones return to Bonner Springs Tuesday as EKL schools join the meet.
