Viking boys win Santa Fe Trail cross country meet
Central Heights boys open season with team title at the Santa Fe Trail Invitational finishing 48 points ahead of DeSoto. Paul Snow and Chad Burkdoll were runners up, Paul Timbiin fourth, with multiple teammates in the top 10. Wilhelmburg and JV results noted. both CH and Williamsburg prepared for upcoming races at Gannett, Iola, and Allen County.

PHS Boys Take Third at Wamego Invitational Cross Country
Pomona and Baldwin teams posted strong showings at the Wamego meet. Pomona boys finished third in 3A 2A 1A. Baldwin girls were eighth in 4A with Matt Woodard fifth individually. Southeast of Saline claimed the girls 4A title. Topeka Hayden won both 4A boys and girls titles.

Ottawa High freshman Jenifer Dieterich placed fourth at the Olathe South Invitational at Johnson County Community College with a 12:03 on the two mile course. Her finishing pace helped Ottawa place fourth in the team standings while the boys finished 12th. Coach Romhaus praised the debut and noted overall improvement despite tough conditions.

Eagles Take Fourth At Baldwin Volleyball Tournament
Wellsville Eagles finished 1-3 at the Baldwin Tournament under coach John Dowling. They beat Baldwin 15-2 and 15-6 to place second in pool play, defeated by Piper in the semifinals, and lost to St. Thomas Aquinas in straight matches after an opening win. Top stats featured Joy Deterding 21 of 21 serves, Staci Stump 39 of 41, and Carrie Wiseman 32 of 34.
