SRS report exonerates department, Harder calls review therapeutic
In Topeka, Secretary Robert C. Harder welcomed the task force report on the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services as therapeutic and cleansing, saying it largely clears SRS of allegations. The 16 page document, released by Gov. Carlin, found advocacy for narrow interests impractical and urged decisions based on total program needs and limited funds. Harder said work already began on recommendations and would meet staff to push further actions.
