Burning issues in Nascar ties to owners and headlines
Boston Red Sox owner John Henry bought half of Jack Roush's team earlier this year. Now Arizona Diamondbacks owners Jeff Moorad and Tom Garfinkel have bought controlling interest in Hall of Fame Racing. Racing tension blends with baseball as a shared theme across the sports world. Dale Earnhardt Jr. can win and lead laps at Richmond but may miss the Chase unless Kevin Harvick finishes poorly. Earnhardt Jr. hasn’t won in 51 races, a cold streak. Kurt Busch jokes about “humorous” phrasing after Fontana pole. California Speedways seats were two thirds full amid heat. Labor Day race Darlington’s glory date 1950 2003 is noted. since the schedule shift to Fontana, sellouts remain rare. Joe Gibbs Racing to Toyota and Tony Stewart in a rice burner prompt broad speculation. Chase standings show Jimmie Johnson 10 points behind leader Gordon.

Fans disrupt announcers with noise at televised games
The letter from Thelma Jones of Woodstown NJ complains about rowdy fans behind announcers and analysts. She argues barriers are needed to block noise, but networks won’t change, valuing atmosphere and viewer preference over disruption.
