Lincoln Elementary Builds New Play Area Through Community Effort
Parents and teachers at Lincoln Elementary celebrated a community funded play space built without large purchases or district funds. Over eighteen months they raised money through garden seeds, spices, T-shirt sales, an auction, a chili supper, donations, and PTA contributions while volunteers constructed the playground from timber, tires, rope, and sand. The project used local business support and involved many evenings with clubs and groups, yielding a creatively engaging yard for students.
