Coach Karla Van Leeuwen cites weak serve receive and inconsistent play while noting Seaman’s power and Ottawa’s lack of confidence. JV squad opens 1-1 then faces Shawnee Mission South.

Kansas City's Marty Schottenheimer pointed to page 84 as exonerating Jerome Woods after Broncos coach Mike Shanahan urged league discipline for the late hit on John Elway in Denver's 19-3 win. Schottenheimer argued the out of pocket quarterback rule supports Woods, who was not flagged. Elway returned to action after wind knocked out.
