Soviets Begin Buying Wheat Under New Five Year Pact
The Soviet Union has started buying U S grain under a five year agreement that begins Oct 1. Private grain firms sold 900 000 metric tons of wheat and corn to Moscow with 200 000 tons of soybeans sold earlier. The deal sets a minimum 9 million tons of wheat and corn per year and allows substitutions and extra purchases up to 12 million tons with consultations.
