Wings collection drive for quail and prairie chicken
The Kansas Fish and Game Commission will distribute 2,000 wing collection envelopes to prairie chicken hunters and about 3,000 to quail hunters in eastern Kansas during opening weeks. Tail feathers will also be gathered for analysis at the Commission office to assess hunting success and bird productivity. About 6,000 quail wings are received annually.
