Dear Annie guidance on taking five year olds to see infirm great grandparents. If children are not traumatised by limited exposure it is OK to bring them, with preparation. if a parent struggles with aging relatives they may stay home. In a separate note, relatives should communicate during disasters but avoid making calls a point of pride.
