Strike Foes Not Budging in NFL Lockout Fight
The NFL and its players remain stalemated as strikes threaten the season. Owner Rankin Smith warns of potential cancellation while player reps push for wage-scale concessions only if management offers a viable alternative. Garvey and Donlan discuss renewed talks, but no movement on economics exists. The dispute has canceled five weekends and may push schedules toward February if unresolved. The players press a five point plan emphasizing higher wages, fair revenue sharing, and protecting veteran players.
