Ottawa honors longtime leader Gene Ramsey with tributes
Gene Ramsey helped push a dangerous U.S. 59 upgrade that opened in 2012 after 18 years of lobbying. He also spurred growth in Ottawa including a new Neosho County Community College campus in 2010 and city projects like sewer work and paving. Friends describe him as a prudent, people‑centered leader who cared for taxpayers and the north side of town. Memorial tributes invite memories on Gene’s Tribute Wall.
