An article describes a curious plant phenomenon as a cactus type houseplant produced light green lantern pods that opened to reveal a striking five point bloom about twelve inches across. The blossom, burgundy speckled with velour fringe, proved to be the Hairy Starfish Flower Stapelia nobilis, a succulent rather than a true cactus.
Mr and Mrs Ron Castleberry of Potterville Michigan welcomed daughter Crystal Gale born October 20 in Lansing. She weighed seven pounds thirteen ounces. A sister Loretta is 17 months old.
