Don Hay kicks off re election bid with resignation call

Franklin County Commissioner Don Hay began his campaign for re election calling for County Administrator Ron Henrickson to resign. The November 2006 general election looms as Hay, from the 4th District, clashes with other commissioners over payroll, the 2006 budget and minutes procedures. Hay criticizes Henrickson saying he lacks required qualifications and should leave Franklin County. He also seeks to curtail County Counselor Blaine Finch. County voters approved the county administrator position in May 2004. Henrickson, who started in May, previously worked in Washington state and was terminated there after the hiring commissioners were voted out. County Clerk Shaun Perry notes Hay filed for re election Monday.
