Central Heights Vikings finish fifth at invitational
Central Heights High School volleyball placed fifth at the Central Heights Invitational after a 3-2 record. They went 1-2 in pool play with wins over Metro Academy 25-10 25-22 and losses to Pomona 25-19 25-22 and Girard 25-16 25-10. In consolation bracket play they defeated Williamsburg 25-20 17-25 25-13 and Metro Academy. Elli Ouellette led with 20 kills and 40 serves, Jessica Hunter added 18 kills. Hunter and Ieather Theele totaled 28 digs.

Oklahoma State star Adarius Bowman earned Big 12 offensive player of the week after a 300 yard receiving game against Kansas. Texas defender Tim Crowder and Colorado safety Ryan Walters shared defensive honors while Colorado kicker Mason Crosby topped special teams. Crosby hit a 58 yard field goal and 56 yarder, both from 50 plus yards, aiding Colorado’s 30-6 win over Texas Tech.
