Prepare Your Car for Winter
The American Petroleum Institute offers a winter readiness checklist with a focus on anti-freeze. Use a 50 50 mixture of ethylene glycol and water, replace every year or twice with AC, inspect hoses thermostat and radiator, have a pressure test done, replace worn belts, and avoid overfilling. Check oil type for winter, install snow tires early, park in a garage if possible, and keep the tank near the top to prevent condensation.
