Karzai Leads Afghan Presidential Vote Counting
Interim leader Hamid Karzai led early results as counting began across eight regional centers amid complaints of ballot irregularities and multiple voting. First official returns from six provinces show Karzai with 56.2 percent, while Yunus Qanooni trails at 17.2 percent and Abdul Rashid Dostum at 15 percent. Turnout appeared high, and counting paused for Ramadan observance.
