He was born July 14 1913 in Charles City Iowa. He earned degrees from Rice University and Ottawa University plus an honorary doctorate. A former corporate VP at Texaco, he is survived by wife Eleanor, son William E Coppoe, daughter Teresa A DeNies, two sisters, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceded by brother Louis A Coppoe. Memorials to Ottawa University via Lamb Roberts Heise Funeral Home.

Polka king Frank Yankovic dies at 83 in Florida
Frank Yankovic known as the polka king died at his home in Port Richey Florida at age 83. He won the first polka Grammy in 1986 and recorded with Chet Atkins and Don Everly. Born in Davis West Virginia in 1915 he built a six decade career around Slovenian style polka and popular hits like Just Because and Blue Shirt Waltz.
