Garnett Cuts Half Of Street Lights In Power Saving Move

Garnett will dim about 200 street lights by 50 percent following a city commission order. Major reductions will hit intersections and railroad crossings as a response to anticipated fuel shortages. The city’s natural gas powered plant may switch to diesel if shutoffs occur, with diesel supply feared tight this winter.
