Interstate 70 nearing completion in Kansas says Avery
Gov William Avery told Kansas motor carriers that nearly all of Interstate 70 across Kansas will be finished by next month with about 40 miles remaining. Sen Frank Carlson noted the nationwide Interstate system spans about 41 000 miles and costs at least 46 800 000 000. The system offers four lane free highways with high speed and safety, and limits on billboard clutter and slow vehicles. It is a federally funded program benefiting states as tax dollars flow in. Eastern Kansas shows industrial growth along I 35 as a result.
