Reggie Jackson belts a three run homer as New York takes a 7-1 win in the opening game of the AL playoffs. The Royals’ errors and shaky fielding set the tone early. Beattie thrives, denying pressure while Beattie and Clay keep Kansas City off balance.
Barry Switzer said the No 1 Oklahoma Sooners drilled their kicking game on Tuesday as it could decide Saturdays Texas game. Kansas coach Bud Moore named third string sophomore Harry Sydney the starter for the Big Eight opener against Colorado.
