Middle aged savers, the savings habit questioned by SAM DAWSON through a Who's Who survey of 3,000 East Coast individuals. Ninety eight percent of those in the sample with savings report confidence and independence, while ten percent see no sparkle in life from thrift. Financial pros show 75 percent savings, while construction and real estate lead at 96 percent. artists and media workers also high at 87 and 93 percent respectively. Security and retirement income top reasons for saving with travel ranking lower.
