Attaching to brick walls with shield fasteners

For brick walls use a Jag screw shield set into mortar, drilling a hole equal to the shield. The shield expands in mortar as the screw tightens, gripping firmly. A 200 pound load is feasible with the proper shield and hole size. For squeaks in carpeted floors, have an assistant stand on the area while you drive screws upward from below to pull subfloor and floorboards together, ensuring screws are sized to avoid protrusion.
