Library director Nadine Peine and assistant Connie Weber attended a Northeast Kansas Library System training retreat at Valley Falls with a notable Amelia Earhart presentation. Leroy and Joyce Wasmund visited Kansas State Fair Hutchinson Pioneer Village Minden Neb and Sioux Falls to relatives before returning home. United Methodist Women fall district meeting attendees listed. Larry and Linda Thurston toured with grandchildren Parker and Macy Yust visiting great grandparents Leroy and Joyce Wasmund while Shon and Jenny Yust attended the State football game. Osage City couple Michael and Sara Coy announce birth of Jillian Annette on Sept. 11, 2002 at Topeka. Five generations present with grandparents James and Robin Coy and great-grandmother Shirley Reeves plus great great-grandmothers Shirley Mersham and Thelma Walters. Joseph Gordon Cox inurned at Richmond Cemetery. died Aug. 14, 2002 in Oroville, California from a traffic accident. Survivors include wife Julie Cox, two sons, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Cox born Nov. 8, 1916 in Linn County. brother of J. Frank Cox. uncle of Larry, Terry Cox and Beverly Long. Cox Glass Co. founder later moved to California.

The Rowdy Wranglers 4-H Club met September 9 in Sacred Heart basement with Amanda Geist announcing final plans for the club trip. Members elected 2002 2003 officers led by Eric Anderson as president and Evan Daugharthy as vice president.
